Wheel 'O Yum 3.6.3 simplifies the voting options for each restaurant. Previously the Wheel 'O Yum employed a vote scale that ranged from -2 (strong opposition) to +2 (strong preference). The new voting system provides three choices: Yes (favor), No (oppose), and Don't Care (neutral).
This version also includes Java version compatibility checking.

Wheel 'O Yum 3.6.2 is now available for download.
This version adds HTTP tunneling. HTTP tunneling allows the Wheel 'O Yum Applet and client to communicate through firewalls and/or proxy servers which block all outgoing traffic except HTTP. To do this, the Wheel 'O Yum tunnels its own protocol over the HTTP protocol.
This version also includes bug and regression corrections.

Wheel 'O Yum has added a variety of animal avatars for use by members.
An avatar is an image used to represent a person. Each Wheel 'O Yum member can select an avatar for display in his/her profile.
Members still have the option of selecting a custom avatar via my Wheel 'O Yum profile.

WheelOYum.com metamorphosis to offer web-based service

WheelOYum.com is undergoing a metamorphosis.
The change will apply to both visual appearance and service availability.
The main driving factors behind the changes to WheelOYum.com are to support a completely web-driven service, and to improve the site's design.
First and foremost, the Wheel 'O Yum service is now available completely online.
No downloading, installing, and configuring a server. No distributing to all your friends and coworkers, followed by setting each one up. (Well, not unless you want to of course.)
This new form of delivering the Wheel 'O Yum removes the burden of setting up and administering the Wheel 'O Yum server (a daunting task for most people). This most recent change builds on the existing framework to support multiple users in multiple groups.
This new delivery model also allows some of the most-requested features to be added, like automatic restaurant listings of your local area.

The second driving force for the change was many visitors felt the old wheeloyum.com website could use some improvement in design and layout.
We've tried to offer a cleaner, simpler (not to mention more colorful) website that focuses less on the techno-babble and more on the user.
